From the North - Take the A171 from Middlesbrough, bypass Guisborough and Scaling Reservoir. Stay on the A171 until you reach Whitby.

From the South - Leave the A1 on the A64, bypass York heading for Malton. Bear left off the A64 at Malton roundabout and head towards Pickering.  From Pickering, stay on the A169 as it passes through Sleights. Turn right at the roundabout joining the A171 and head into Whitby.

In Whitby - From the roundabout where the A169 joins the A171, head towards Whitby. At the next roundabout pass the Park & Ride facility. Continue straight on until reaching the traffic lights at the A174. Turn left here continuing towards Whitby Centre. At the roundabout turn left up Chubb Hill Road and at the next roundabout at the top take the second exit which is signposted for Saltburn and Sandsend, this is Upgang Lane. Immediately after the petrol station on your right is a left turning. This is Crescent Avenue. When the road bends to the left you will see The Waverley on your right.
